Christmas Extravaganza 2015

Our big Christmas Extravaganza food tasting event proved to be a huge success for 2015.

With over 30 of our local suppliers coming along to support us with their products and samples. Customers old and new enjoyed the festive atmosphere and music from the leiston legion band as well as fabulous food and drink.

Sarah Wallington-Smith was announced as the lucky winner of our amazing £200 hamper by local pantomime star mother goose with her trusty cow by her side.

A brilliant day had by all and we’re now looking forward to planning the next.

Autumn Arrives At The Friday Street Butchery!

pork-sausage-raw_5Darren, Ian and new butchery apprentice Toby are celebrating Autumn with their wonderful local pork, apple and cyder sausages. A real treat on a late BBQ or a September supper as the night’s draw in.

Their lovely Blythburgh rolled shoulder of pork makes for a delicious Sunday roast and if you don’t know how to do it, they can tell you how to cook the best bit, the crackling, to perfection.

Pork ‘n’ Apples At Friday Street!

imagesGlorious Golden September has arrived!

Autumn has crept in and with it the colours and flavours that sum up all this summers growth and goodness.

The first sign, for us up at Friday Street, is when the soft red fruits are overtaken by the arrival of the first of our local English apples, in this case, Discovery, from High House Farm overlooking the Alde Estuary.

Discovery is the first of Corrina’s Autumn collection of the finest home grown apples; Worcester, James Grieve, Charles Ross, Russet, Cox and many more, all from High House or Moat Farm in Kenton. You will not find a better selection in Suffolk and you can try them all before you buy at the Friday Street Apple Tasting Section in the shop….coming very soon!!
